Firefighters in Australia battle furniture factory fire

SYDNEY (CBS, KYMA) - An inferno ravaged a furniture factory in western Sydney Tuesday, threatening nearby properties.

More than 50 firefighters were called to Sapphire Wood Furniture in Greenacre to tackle the blaze on Tuesday afternoon, Fire and Rescue NSW said.

Footage posted to X by fire officials shows the raging fire, part of the structure caving in, and dramatic smoke clouds ballooning in the process.

In an update to X, Fire and Rescue NSW said, "The fire is contained but is expected to smoulder well into the night. There has been roof and wall collapse. no injuries reported and there are no persons unaccounted for."
