Rural Metro responds to house fire, declared a total loss

YUMA, Ariz. (KYMA, KECY) - Rural Metro Fire battled a house fire they declared was a total loss.

Rural Metro said the incident happened before 9:30 a.m. Tuesday in the area of S. Avenida Compadres and Autumn Street.

According to Rural Metro, the home was a "single family dwelling," and all occupants and their pets had safely evacuated.

When battling the fire, Rural Metro says the fire went up into the attic, prompting them to remove the ceiling to put it out.

While there were no injuries reported, Rural Metro says the home was deemed a total loss and Red Cross responded to help the family.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
