Amazon plane crashes at Miami Airport

MIAMI, Fla. (NBC, KYMA) - An Amazon cargo plane has crashed after landing at Miami International Airport.

An airport spokesperson says the jet overran the runway around two this afternoon and is disabled at the northwest end of the airport.

Video shows smoke billowing from the crash site.

Photos show the jet on a road outside the airport, surrounded by emergency vehicles but the plane appears to be intact.

Some 60 Miami-Dade Fire rescue units have responded to the scene and report there are multiple patients involved in the incident.

All runways and taxiways at the airport have been closed.

The FAA says the plane was arriving from San Juan, Puerto Rico and is investigating.
