Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office pausing use of 75 Flock cameras in region

HAMILTON COUNTY, OH (NBC, KYMA) - The Hamilton County Sheriff's Office in Ohio is pausing the use of the 75 Flock cameras that are in the county and township.

Sheriff Charmaine McGuffey made the announcement Thursday.

This as people continue to question the license-plate readers that are being placed around the country.

Sheriff McGuffey said her office plans to cloak or remove the cameras as part of the contract they have with the company.

They are able to put a pause to the use of the Flock cameras without costing the county extra money as well.

Mcguffey also said they are looking into Flock and Ohio legislature to create parameters around the camera's use.

She also said no deputy in the department has misused the technology.
