One dead after a tour bus caught fire on a Los Angeles freeway

LOS ANGELES, Calif. (NBC, KYMA) - One person is dead after a commercial tour bus caught fire along a Los Angeles freeway early Friday.

Authorities say the fire appeared to start at the rear of the bus, which was pulled over on the eastbound 60 freeway near Hacienda Heights with extensive damage.

At the time of the fire, authorities say the bus was traveling from El Monte to Bloomington with eighteen passengers and the bus driver on board.

It's unclear what the final destination was.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
