Tracking a hot and humid week with possible rain chances ahead

Weather Authority/ KYMA

Tracking high humidity this week, keeping us muggy. Temperatures will also heat up over the next few days, but later this week, temperatures will cool back down as rain chances go up.

YUMA, Ariz. (KYMA) - Happy Monday! Temperatures are slightly below or near average this afternoon, but it is humid, making it feel hotter.

Tracking high humidity staying put this week with dew points staying elevated and in the 50s and 60s. Prepare for a muggy week ahead.

Temperatures are trending seasonably warm for the evenings, but with the humidity, it will make it feel warmer than the actual air temperature.

It will be a nice evening to stay indoors or have a movie night where it is cooler.

There are slight chances for showers and isolated storms being possible tonight. I will keep tracking and bring updates throughout the evening.

Keep in mind that any storms that do develop could bring in high winds and localized flooding. So it is important to always be prepared.

Temperatures are going to heat up over the next few days as highs will be trending over the 110 mark. But it will also remain humid, so heat index values will also be trending higher.

The heat will make a quick comeback with highs trending over the 110 mark by the middle of the week. I am tracking temperatures to cool back down with higher rain chances toward the end of the work week.

The greatest chance for rain activity is Thursday night and into Friday. Any thunderstorms that do develop could bring in high winds and localized flooding. I will keep tracking and bring more details as we get closer. Stay tuned.

There are more chances for rain potential even early next week.

TRACKING THE TROPICS: I am tracking a few tropical systems in the Pacific that are likely to develop within the next 7 days. I will be watching these closely and bring more details and updates.
