Tracking stronger winds with slightly cooler temperatures

Weather Authority/ KYMA

We are finally in for slightly cooler temperatures for the rest of the week. It will still be warm, but seasonable and not as hot. Also, prepare for gustier winds for the evenings ahead through Friday.

YUMA, Ariz. (KYMA-TV)- We made it to the middle of the weekend, and it's still warm with highs just below the 110 mark. But thankfully, it is feeling much drier as dew points have dropped.

Take a look at our future dew points for the next 48 hours; dew points will remain in the 40s or below. This is just how we like it here in the Desert Southwest.

Looking at the coming hours, temperatures will stay in the triple digits through 8 pm and overnight lows only cooling down into the 80s by morning.

It will be another warm evening, so cool off with some ice cream after dinner.

For the rest of tonight, it will be breezy and windy as we have strong westerly winds and gusts between 20-30 MPH.

Stronger winds and blowing dust is expected in Imperial County.

Looking to Thursday, we are in for more winds during the evening hours. Take a look at our futuretrack wind gusts.

As the week continues, temperatures will slowly cool down to seasonal levels for Father's Day weekend and for the first official day of Summer.

I am tracking intense and more extreme heat being likely to take over late next week. Stay tuned for more details.
