Tracking cooler temperatures and some winds for the weekend ahead

A lower-pressure system will move in this weekend, cooling down our temperatures and bringing in stronger winds. Tracking another system earlier next week keeping us cool and breezy.

YUMA, Ariz. (KYMA-TV)- Happy Friday! Temperatures are a little cooler today as a cooling trend continues.

For our evening, we will have some clouds, cooler temperatures, and a little breeze for us here in Yuma.

Stronger westerly winds will favor the west and in Imperial County, as wind gusts could climb up to 30 MPH through tonight.

An Air Quality Alert is in effect for the majority of Imperial County until 11 p.m. TONIGHT due to air quality concerns from the blowing dust.

A Wind Advisory is also issued and will go into effect at 5 p.m. this evening until 5 a.m. Saturday morning for the southwest corner of Ocotillo for west winds and gusts peaking up to 55 MPH.

We have a few lower-pressure systems that will move into the Desert Southwest, and it will bring in nice and cool temperatures with breezy and windy conditions.

Rain chances have really decreased for our area. It's looking slight to no rain being expected this weekend and next week.

Heading into the weekend, we will see some clouds with slight to no rain expected. Temperatures will be fantastic and cool into the low 80s and upper 70s late this weekend and early next.

Breezy and windy conditions will also be expected through early next week. Then we will warm back to the 90s and calmer conditions late next week.
