President Trump agrees to two-week extension on Iran deadline

WASHINGTON (CBS) - President Trump announced Tuesday he will be suspending an attack on Iran for two weeks.

On a post to Truth Social, President Trump said, "I agree to suspend the bombing and attack of Iran for a period of two weeks."

The ceasefire follows a previous post from President Trump who threatened to to "destroy a civilization."

Vice President JD Vance claims the U.S. and Iran were in talks with "a lot of negotiations between now and then."

20% of the world's oil moves through the Strait of Hormuz, which has been struck for weeks, leading to soaring gas prices.
