Tracking a warm Easter weekend

As we are hopping into Easter weekend, we will have calmer winds, lots of sunshine, and warmer temperatures. Daytime highs will warm into the 90s for Easter.

YUMA, Ariz. (KYMA-TV)- Happy Friday! We have had strong winds and dust especially here in Yuma County. Due to the dust there's an Air Quality Alert in place until 9 p.m. tonight for parts of Yuma County.

Winds will lighten up this evening, but still be breezy and gusts could reach up to 20-25 MPH.

It's also Good Friday! If you have any Friday night plans it will be cool with a few clouds and a little breezy. Still going to be a great night.

The Easter countdown continues. We are just 2 days from Easter Sunday!

During Easter weekend, it will still be occasionally breezy at times with gusts 15-25 MPH. But it shouldn't ruin your Easter plans and egg hunts.

A lower pressure system will be moving out and it will allow a ridge of high pressure to build bringing back warmer temperatures for Easter weekend.

Looking back at Easter Sundays over the last 7 years, we certainly had a mixture of cool and hot Easter Sundays. Last year was pretty seasonable, but forecasting this year to be a toasty one.

Tracking lots of sunshine and warm temperatures for Easter. Make sure to protect your chocolate bunnies so they don't melt from the heat.

Slightly warmer and near triple-digit temperatures are expected early next week.
