Weather Authority/ KYMA

A strong ridge of high pressure will be taking over in the region, which will lead to well-above-normal and record level temperatures in the days ahead.

YUMA, Ariz. (KYMA-TV)- Happy Tuesday! Temperatures are already trending well-above-average this afternoon with highs in the upper 80s.

A ridge of high pressure will dominate the region all week long keeping our temperatures pretty toasty for late February. Our daytime highs will be 15-20 degrees warmer than normal.

90-degree afternoons are in the forecast starting by the middle of the week, with a potential for daily records may be reached or close. The best chance we may reach record levels is Saturday and Sunday. Stay tuned.

It's going to be a warm close to February and warm start to March. And this Saturday is the BBQ & Brew Fest, which is will be pretty warm for he outdoor event.

With the unseasonably warm weather this week, we have minor heat risks and make sure to stay hydrated and take shade breaks if you are going to be outdoors for a long period of time.
