Tracking a nice weekend with a big warm-up on the way

We will have lots of sunshine, calmer winds, and pleasant temperatures this weekend. Enjoy the cool weather because we will warm to the 90s next week.

YUMA, Ariz. (KYMA-TV)- Happy Friday! Winds have finally lightened up! And winds will stay nice and light through the weekend.

An Air Quality Alert is in effect through midnight PST for Imperial County because of the windy and dusty conditions the last few days.

Prepare for another cold morning with overnight lows dipping to the low 40s and some dropping to the mid to upper 30s. Bundle up and stay warm, and remember the 4 P's: PEOPLE, PETS, PLANTS, AND PIPES.

As these series of lower pressure systems exits out of the Desert Southwest, we finally have quiet and comfortable weather for the weekend.

However, will have a pattern change arriving soon, and this time we will be warming up.

Our temperature outlook is displaying dark red on the map, which means we are in store for well-above-normal temperatures for the next 6-10 days.

Temperatures will be cooler than normal through Saturday, with a warming trend moving in on Sunday.

Daytime highs will be warming into the 90s by the middle of the week.
