Arizona tribal officer charged with sexual abuse towards three victims

PHOENIX (KYMA) - A White Mountain Apache tribal police officer was arrested for sexual abuse, according to the U.S. Attorney's Office District of Arizona.

Karl Eugene Leslie, 42, of Whiteriver, Arizona is charged with the following:

  • Aggravated sexual abuse
  • Kidnapping
  • Sexual abuse through fear
  • Sexual abuse through coercion
  • Deprivation of rights under color of law

Leslie was an officer through on the Fort Apache Indian Reservation from April 2007 through June 2024.

Leslie allegedly abused three victims between December 1, 2020 through September 25, 2023. He allegedly raped and kidnapped two victims, including a minor, then threatened and sexually abused a third victim.

The Attorney's Office says each victim is a member of the White Mountain Apache Tribe on the Fort Apache Indian Reservation.
