Tracking well above normal temperatures all week

Weather Authority/ KYMA

Tracking a warming trend for the rest of the week as daytime highs will be in the 80s, and even for the next several days, temperatures will remain pretty unseasonable.

YUMA, Ariz. (KYMA-TV)- Happy Wednesday we made it to the middle of the week, but it is warmer than yesterday.

I am continuing to track very warm weather this week. A ridge of high pressure has settled over much of the United States, which means warmer-than-normal temperatures for us.

Afternoons may be staying pretty warm, but evening will still be cool and chilly. So during the evening and night hours, you will still want a sweater or jacket.

Looking ahead, our current ridge of high pressure won't be backing off any time soon. Our average for this time of year is 68° F, and I am tracking high temperatures to trend significantly above-normal even this weekend and next week.

Temperatures will continue to gradually climb later this week as highs will be in the 80s. High temperatures will fall a few degrees this weekend with a few additional clouds, but it will still be pretty warm and dry.

I am tracking another round of 80s being possible again next week. Just prepare for warm afternoons and cool nights for the next several days.
