Multiple people arrested, injured at Fiestas del Sol

MEXICALI, B.C. (KYMA) - Chaos erupted at the Fiestas del Sol event, leading to multiple people arrested and injured.

At least 20 people were arrested, minors were lost, and young people were injured due to fainting and anxiety attacks.

Nearly 60,000 people entered the festival when an unprecedented event caused chaos.

Rescue groups such as the Red Cross decided to leave due to safety protocol.

"People started throwing beers, I think they were glasses of beer. The staff detected that it could get out of control. They took cover on the stage when they saw the crowd starting to sway toward the aisles and that side of the stage, they decided to leave," said César Bojórquez, Red Cross coordinator.

Ccivil protection fined the organizers, although the amount of the fine is not yet known.
