Tracking a drying and slight cooling trend this week

After last week's huge storm, we are in for a dry, calm, and sunny week ahead. Tracking a slight cooldown by the middle of the week.

YUMA, Ariz. (KYMA, KECY) - Yearly rain review check! An intense storm hit Yuma last week, which brought us more measurable rain.

So far this year, Yuma has accumulated 2.26" of rain, which is higher than our yearly average of 1.96", putting us ahead by 0.30". Overall, we are looking pretty good and where we should be for our yearly rain total.

More good news! It's been very humid and muggy the last several days, but we are finally in for drier and more comfortable weather this week. We have a drying trend that will be moving in, dropping our dew points back into the 40s and 30s within the next 48 hours.

Our overall weather pattern setup for the days ahead, is we have a broad area of low pressure to our north, which will bring slightly cooler temperatures by the middle of the week.

It's going to be a calm and dry week ahead, with plenty of sunshine. Temperatures will cool slightly below normal starting Wednesday and will last through the weekend.

Get out and enjoy it will be a beautiful and pleasant week!

Holiday countdown! Now that we are in September, that means all the fall holidays and events are right around the corner! Take a look.
