Yuma man killed in border wait line in San Luis, Mexico

SAN LUIS, Mexico (KYMA, KECY) - A Yuma man was executed while waiting in line at the San Luis Port of Entry to cross into the United States.

Sonora state authorities say armed men approached the victim's vehicle and shot him to death. The victim was identified as 30-year-old Marco Antonio "N."

They say he was with a one-and-a-half year old child also in the vehicle, but the child was not harmed.

The authorities say the victim had a criminal record in the United States for arms trafficking, but he was on parole since September of 2023.

The child was taken to the Deputy Attorney General's Office for protection.

Personnel from the Ministerial Criminal Investigation Agency and Forensic Services are conducting the corresponding investigations to establish the motive and identify the suspects.

No arrests have been made.
