National Security Council staffers put on administrative leave
(CNN, KYMA/KECY) - More than 100 staffers at the National Security Council have suddenly been placed on administrative leave.
Sources familiar with the situation say that it's part of a shakeup led by Interim National Security Adviser and Secretary of State Marco Rubio. Staffers were given less than an hour to pack up and leave.
The NSC usually plays a key role in shaping and coordinating the president's foreign policy matters, but under President Trump, that influence has been scaled back.
The latest overhaul is expected to shrink its role even further.
