Warm and a little breezy for Memorial Day

Tracking a sunny and dry week with a little warm-up arriving later this week.

YUMA, Ariz. (KYMA, KECY) - It's been a warm and sunny Memorial Day! If you continue to celebrate this evening, we will have clear skies, with warm temperatures. It will also be a little breezy through the afternoon with wind gusts between 20-25 MPH.

Dry conditions with temperatures remaining near to slightly above normal through mid-week.

A pattern change is expected late this week, resulting in a slight boost in temperatures, with highs peaking around 102-106 degrees across the Desert Southwest, resulting in a locally moderate Heat Risk.

TRACKING THE TROPICS: Hurricane Season is in full swing in the Pacific. I am tracking a Tropical Storm Alvin, which is likely to form off Mexico's coast this week.

Tropical moisture will also push up from the south late weekend, which will increase rain chances. There's a low chance (5-20%) for some higher-end rainfall (>0.50").
