Tracking above-normal warmth into the holiday weekend

Sunny, dry, and above-normal temperatures will continue for the rest of the week. Going into Friday, we will have breezier conditions, but toasty weather is still expected through the holiday weekend.

YUMA, Ariz. (KYMA, KECY-TV) - Today is the hottest day of the week with highs reaching between 105-107 degrees this afternoon.

Record heat isn't looking likely, but still going to be feeling pretty hot for mid May.

Heading into the evening, very warm temperatures will continue with mostly clear skies. It will be slightly breezier throughout the evening, but nothing overly gusty; wind gusts are expected up to 20 MPH.

We will between a high and low pressure system for Friday, which will keep our temperatures warm and in the low 100s, but we will also have breezier conditions.

Tracking breezier conditions on Friday, resulting in gusty winds and dust. Stronger west winds will favor in Imperial County with gusts of 30-35 MPH.

Going into the holiday weekend, we will have slightly cooler temperatures, but still going to be warmer than normal.

Very warm temperatures, mostly clear skies, and dry conditions will persist even into next week as we will have more triple-digit heat.
