Fire breaks out in Palo Verde near Oxbow Campground

PALO VERDE, Calif. (KYMA, KECY) - We're following news out of Palo Verde.

A fire there has burned about 500 acres so far, according to the Bureau of Land Management (BLM).

The fire is located just south of Blythe.

The Bureau of Land Management (BLM) says it's near the Oxbow Campground on the Arizona-California border.

BLM stated that Oxbow Campground will be closed throughout the weekend.

We're being told multiple fire agencies from Imperial County are heading over there to fight the fire.
