Yuma nurses honored at Arizona Western College

YUMA, Ariz. (KYMA, KECY) - Local nursing students were honored for their accomplishments in the classroom.

Nearly 30 Arizona Western College nursing students were inducted into the Organization of Associate Degree Nurses Honor Society.

They represent academic excellence and community service.

"Arizona Western College is part of the Organization of Associate Degree Nurses and they allow us to develop a chapter here of our honor society. We are the official iota-theta chapter society here. We are recognizing academic excellence and their contribution to the community," said Amber Ortega, AWC nursing teacher.

This was the first group of students inducted into the Honor Society in Yuma.

There will be more inductees after the first semester of nursing school at AWC next year.
