Staying in the 90s for now with big changes on the way!

To kick off the first day of May, we have near to slightly above normal temps with calm conditions. We have a strong weather system that will bring gusty winds and a big cooldown this weekend.

YUMA, Ariz. (KYMA, KECY-TV) - It's FINALLY MAY! We are starting the month with warm, sunny, and calm weather.

Heading into the evening we can expect cooler and comfortable temps with a light breeze.

Dry and mostly quiet weather will continue through the rest of the work week, as temperatures hover near or several degrees above normal.

HEADS UP! Big changes are on the way this weekend! I am tracking a weather system that will move into the region this weekend, which will bring in breezy and windy conditions on Saturday and Sunday. Extra moisture will be coming to the region, but rain chances aren't looking to be favoring our area as of now.

Strong winds and dust will move in Saturday through Sunday night plus, we can expect a big drop in our temperatures with highs in the low to mid-70s, which is about 15-20 degrees below normal for early May.

We will have calmer, sunny skies, and a big warm-up moving in next week.
