Tracking a warm-up with highs approaching the triple-digits

YUMA, Ariz. (KYMA, KECY-TV) - A ridge of high pressure is entering the area, which will drive temperatures up well above normal this week.

This ridge will continue to build, and expand throughout the week reaching peak strength Thursday and Friday.

Expect highs in the upper 90s with the potential of reaching 100 degrees across the majority of the Desert Southwest by the end of the week. The warmest days of the week will be Thursday and Friday where record highs are looking likely.

We will continue to stay dry with plenty if sunshine for the next several days.

With this warm-up, we will have minor to moderate heat risks and it is still important to practice heat safety throughout the day.
