City of Yuma to host Arbor Day celebration

City of Yuma

YUMA, Ariz. (KYMA, KECY) - The City of Yuma invites the public to celebrate Arbor Day on Thursday, April 24 at 8:30 a.m.

Join the City to beautify Yuma and plant trees to help the environment.

The celebration is free and open to volunteers to plant about 40 trees approved for Yuma.

"This grant is focused on our current tree inventory needs, irrigation and planting to restore our tree canopy,” said Grounds Maintenance Supervisor Espy Matlock. “This has been a longtime goal—to have the trees all brought up to the best standards possible.”

The event will be held at Joe Henry Memorial Park (2250 W. Colorado Street).
