Temperatures are on the rise! Tracking an unseasonable warming trend

A ridge of high pressure will continue to build, which will cause our temperatures to climb leading to highs in the mid and upper 90s by next week.

YUMA, Ariz. (KYMA, KECY-TV) - Happy First Day of Spring! It's been a typical spring day here in the Desert Southwest with highs in the 80s and lots of sunshine.

Heading into the evening we will have nice and cool temperatures with pleasant conditions.

The region will remain under the influence of high pressure for at least the next 7 days, leading to warming temperatures through early next week and dry, quiet conditions.

This high pressure will strengthen next week, bringing our temperatures about 15 degrees above normal for late March.

Temperatures will continue to rise each day leading to daytime highs in the mid and upper 90s by next week.

Here in the Desert Southwest will be approaching possible daily records in some places. Stay tuned.
