Blue Angels prepare to take off for annual El Centro airshow
IMPERIAL COUNTY, Calif. (KYMA, KECY) - The Imperial Valley is the winter home of the U.S. Navy Blue Angels.
On Saturday, they will demonstrate the maneuvers they have been practicing for the last two months at the Naval Air Facility El Centro Airshow.
The Blue Angels are ready to kick off their 2025 season in the Imperial Valley.

Stationed at their second home in El Centro, they are ready to show some of the things six F/18 Hornets can do in the sky.
"It takes a tremendous amount of work and dedication, the entire team to doing this," said Cdr. Adam Bryan of Blue Angels #1.
The Navy Squadron doesn't just practice in the Valley, they also create a very special bond with the community.
"We go to local schools and hospitals, we spent time with the local community out there," expressed Cdr. Bryan.
But in order to become a Blue Angel and spread their wings, the pilots and personnel have to put in lots of hard work.
"A pretty rigorous process for selection that we go through and it's a little different from the officers and the listed side, but nevertheless, it's rigorous both all the application in person interviews little bit strength test as well associated with this job." said Lcdr. Wes perkikns of Blue Angels #4
But at the end of the day, all the effort pays off.
"Huge honor to be part of not only a team, but a family," said Pr2. Figueroa of Blue Angels Life Support.
The NAF El Centro Airshow will be this Saturday. Doors open at 8 a.m. and the Blue Angels presentation will be at 2 p.m.
