McGraw Elementary inspires students with ‘Tunnel of Hope’ event
YUMA, Ariz. (KYMA, KECY) - Students at McGraw Elementary took a step toward their future Friday as the school hosted its second annual Tunnel of Hope event, bringing together community members to inspire young minds.
The event kicked off with adults forming a tunnel, cheering on students as they walked through, a powerful symbol of encouragement and belief in their success.
Many participants, dressed in uniforms representing their professions, showcased a variety of career paths available to students in the future.
Following the walk, students engaged in a Career and Education Fair, where they participated in hands-on activities and learned about different career opportunities.
The event aimed to broaden their understanding of potential career paths and encourage them to start thinking about their futures early.
"This is our second year, so we are super excited," said McGraw Elementary Principal Leticia Valencia. "Every year, we do it even better. We have many community partners that have helped us support this event, so we're excited. We are planning to continue this event every year because we know it's so important for our students."
The Tunnel of Hope left many students feeling inspired, with new aspirations and a clearer vision of their future.
