San Diego FC fans eagerly await first ever home game
Tailgating started hours before the game as fans celebrated the anticipation of the city's first ever MLS team.
SAN DIEGO, Calif. (KYMA, KECY-TV) - There was no shortage of excitement ahead of San Diego first ever MLS home game featuring San Diego FC.

Fans started lining up hours before the stadium or even parking lot gates opened at Snapdragon Stadium ahead of Saturday night's home opener against St. Louis City FC.

Once the gates opened, fans flooded the area to celebrate San Diego's newest professional sports franchise.
The fan's chant "Today, let's win," erupted and echoed outside the stadium.
While most fans hail from the San Diego area, there were a handful of others who came from outside of San Diego county.
"It feels awesome to know that we have a professional team now here in San Diego, I'll be down here every time they play to support the team, Go FC," said Selena Garcia, a fan from Arizona.

Meanwhile, a local fan was literally left speechless as game-day was finally here.
"It's a...mixed feelings of happiness, anxiety, umm uhh things we cannot describe," said local fan Carlos Gonzales before he could no longer speak from the excitement.
