Tracking well above normal temperatures all week

YUMA, Ariz. (KYMA, KECY-TV) - A ridge of high pressure will continue to keep our temperatures 10 to 15 degrees above-normal throughout the week.

The Desert Southwest will have minor heat risks, so still remember to practice and the importance of heat safety especially if you plan to be outdoors for a long period of time.

It's only February and Yuma hit 90° today making it the warmest day of the year, so far. El Centro's high temperature was recorded as missing, but they most likely reached the 90s as well.

A dry weather disturbance late Wednesday into Thursday will result in breezy conditions, but not much cooling.

It will be slightly breezier Wednesday through Thursday as northerly winds will move in with gusts of 20-25 MPH.

We will see a few clouds, but staying nice and dry through the workweek, with highs in the 90s through the middle of the week.

A stronger weather system is then expected to impact the region by Friday bringing noticeable cooling, and gustier winds.

Our latest temperature outlook, our next incoming cooling trend it will drop our temperatures slightly below average. Which this cooling trend is much needed as we been having very warm temperatures for this time of year.
