Tracking overnight freezing temperatures for the Desert Southwest

YUMA, Ariz. (KYMA, KECY) - Very cold air is settling into the desert southwest from Sunday's cold front.

Morning low temperatures will fall to near or below freezing in our area for Tuesday morning.

A Freeze Warning will go into effect for Imperial Valley and portions of La Paz County at midnight until 8 a.m. (PST) Tuesday for temperatures in the low 30s.

A Hard Freeze Warning will go into effect portions of Yuma and La Paz County at 1 a.m. until 9 a.m. (MST) Tuesday for temperatures in the in the upper 20s.

Be sure to bundle up and remember the 4 P's to protect against the cold weather.

Temperatures will warm-up just a tad by the middle of the week, but still trending cooler than normal for this time of year.

Another weak and fast moving weather system will pass through the region on Thursday, which will bring rain and breezier conditions to the region.
