Drier and warmer for Wednesday

YUMA, Ariz. (KYMA, KECY-TV) - Much drier and quieter conditions today and it is expected to stay that way for the next several days as a drying trend takes over.

The Arizona Department of Environmental Quality (ADEQ) has issued an Ozone High Pollution Advisory for the Yuma area on Thursday.

This means that forecast weather conditions combined with existing ozone levels are expected to result in local maximum 8-hour ozone concentrations that pose a health risk.

A warming trend is expected through the remainder of this week with highs climbing 110+ degrees later this week.

High temperatures will reach 108-117 degrees across the Desert Southwest this weekend.

Due to the anticipated increase to a Major Heat Risk, an Excessive Heat Warning has been issued for our area for Saturday-Monday.
