Rep. Grijalva joins “Raise the Wage Act” of 2023

The bill would raise minimum wage to 17 dollars by 2028 and give about 28 million Americans a long over-due raise

YUMA, Ariz. (KYMA, KECY) - Rep. Raúl Grijalva (D-Arizona) said one in eight U.S. workers are paid wages that leave them in poverty, even when working full time and year-round.

The "Raise the Wage Act" would gradually raise the minimum wage from $7.25 to $17 by 2028.

Guaranteeing tipped and teen workers are paid at least the full federal minimum wage.

It would also end sub-minimum wage certificates for workers with disabilities to provide more opportunities to be competitively employed.
