Eleven people killed, six injured in arson attack at bar in San Luis, Mexico

Officials confirm there is one man in custody

UPDATE 3:48 P.M. Officials in San Luis, Mexico just confirmed they have arrested a suspect in connection to a fatal arson attack at the Beer House Cantina bar.

Officials said they were able to track down the suspect after matching his vehicle to the one caught on surveillance cameras outside the bar. They said he tried to escape but police were able to catch up to him.

Officials also confirmed one of the victims was 17 years old. They also confirmed one of the victims is a United States citizen, but could have dual citizenship.

SAN LUIS RIO COLORADO, Son. (KYMA, KECY) - Eleven people were killed and six were injured in an arson fire in San Luis, Mexico.

Sonora's district attorney said the suspect sprayed gasoline in the front of the Beer House Cantina bar and lit it with a blow torch after being kicked out, just after 1 a.m. Saturday.

Beer House Cantina is on 6th Street, a block away from the U.S.-Mexico border.

Officials said the suspect was bothering several women at the bar, which is why he was kicked out.

In a press release, Yuma Regional Medical Center (YRMC) released a statement saying they received three patients early Saturday morning.

YRMC said two patients are being transferred to other facilities and one has been admitted to the hospital.

YRMC issued a statement saying, "Our hearts go out to the victims and families affected by his tragedy."

Three other victims were hospitalized in San Luis, Mexico and are in stable condition.

The victims have not been identified.
