Biden kicks off the NATO summit with world leaders: Vows to land Sweden and appease Ukraine

WASHINGTON (NBC / KYMA, KECY-TV) - A critical time for NATO nations as crucial questions are raised concerning the allies alliance and the war in Ukraine. Joining forces to finalize military plans along Russia's western border is the common denominator.

Members are committed to supporting Ukraine and keeping balance, but there are still concerns. Jens Stoltenberg, NATO Secretary General says, "We will issue an invitation for Ukraine to join NATO when allies agree and conditions are met." Leaders however, agreed to merge forward together, joining forces with Ukraine supplying weapons and support.

NATO allies press their unity for Ukraine is strong and President Biden plans to meet with Zelenskyy on Wednesday, to discuss their proposed future together. Julianne Smith, U.S. ambassador to NATO said, "Allies have really traveled some distance to reach consensus."

Biden touts his accomplishments as a "historical moment," by welcoming Finland and backing Sweden's bid.
