Trump scheduled to appear in Florida court amid heightened security and protests

MIAMI, Flor. (NBC, KYMA/KECY) - Amid heightened security and anticipated protests, former President Donald Trump is set to appear Tuesday in federal court in Miami to face charges he misled investigators and mishandled the country's secrets.
The former president is scheduled to appear before a magistrate judge Tuesday afternoon, when he'll be arraigned alongside his co-defendant and aide Walt Nauta.
Trump was indicted last week on 37 federal felony counts, including willful retention of national defense information, making false statements and representations, and conspiracy to obstruct justice.
He denied any wrongdoing and maintains he was entitled to the documents.
Trump has said the prosecution was politically motivated and vowed to retaliate against President Joe Biden if re-elected.
The former president is not expected to make any public comments at the courthouse. However, He is scheduled to deliver remarks at his estate in Bedminster, New Jersey, on Tuesday night.
