Son accused of murdering his father

UPDATE (5/19): The Yuma Police Department identified the victim as 73-year-old Urbano Cano.

YUMA, Ariz. (KYMA, KECY) - The Yuma Police Department (YPD) confirms a 36-year-old man is accused of killing his own father Wednesday night.

YPD responded to reports of an unresponsive individual near South Fifth Avenue and 24th Street overnight.

Officers say they found a man, at about 9:47 p.m. Wednesday night, dead at the scene, and called it a suspicious death, but have since updated the case to a homicide.

YPD identified the suspect as 36-year-old Luis Cano who is in custody and booked on charges of first-degree murder.

Cano is being held on a $1 million bond and is scheduled to be in court on Monday.
