Weather Alert: Strong gusty winds for Tuesday

YUMA, Ariz. (KYMA, KECY-TV) - Today we are in for some breezy to windy conditions with stronger winds expected in Imperial Valley.

There's a Wind Advisory now in effect for Imperial County until midnight.

We have strong westerly winds with speeds of 20-30 MPH with the highest gusts expected up to 45 MPH.

Take a look below to see where our winds will be this evening, calmer winds will be expected for Imperial tomorrow while we stay breezy here in Yuma.

The Imperial County APCD has issued an Air Quality Alert due to increased particulate matter from blowing dust through tonight for Imperial Valley.

Make sure to be safe and remember your dust storm safety tips.

There is a Flood Warning extended along Gila River near Tacna, Arizona until Friday April 21st until 5 pm.

This is due to the upstream dam release, which could cause flooding along the Gila River downstream of Painted Rock.

Remember if you come in contact with flooding water make sure to "Turn Around, Don't Drown."

For the rest of the work temperatures will be near seasonable before warming back-up above normal temperatures this weekend.
