Warmer than normal will persist through the holiday weekend

YUMA, Ariz. (KYMA, KECY-TV) - For the rest of our Thursday we will have some high clouds passing through our skies bringing us partly to mostly cloudy skies before clearer and lots of sunshine for our Friday.

A strong ridge of high pressure is staying put within our region, and it's boosting our temperatures above normal for the next several days.

By our Christmas weekend we can expect nice and quiet weather conditions with temperatures trending about 5-10 degrees warmer for this time of year.

For our holiday weekend here in the Desert Southwest, we can expect plenty of sunshine breezier conditions by Saturday and afternoon highs in the mid and upper 70s.

By the middle of next week temperatures will slightly cool back down with greater rain chances for Tuesday and Wednesday within our area.
