Hospital District Board to add new members

Three candidates ran for three seats and will be appointed by the Yuma County Board of Supervisors

YUMA, Ariz. (KECY, KYMA) - The Hospital District Board One will be getting new members.

While the board is elected by the citizens of Yuma County to manage the lease with YRMC, only three Yumans ran for the three open seats.

Therefore they will not be on the November ballot, and the Yuma County Board of Supervisors will appoint them to their positions likely in December.

Local medical providers Frances Davison and Ron Clark say they hope to help increase communication between the board and YRMC.

“Having been part of the [YRMC] governing board, as an ex-officio member as the Chief of Staff, it gives me a perspective on both situations and be able to provide the community the representation they need,” Clark said.

“I’m looking forward to working with them in partnership, to understand how we as a community can come together and provide services. So I’m excited about it," Davison said.

Jeremy Curry will also be re-appointed to serve on the District Board.

The three members will begin their new terms in January.
