Interim Police Chief appointed in El Centro

EL CENTRO, Calif. (KYMA, KECY) - The City of El Centro has announced the appointment of a new Interim Police Chief.

Deputy Chief of Police Robert Sawyer will begin his role as Interim Police Chief starting Friday, July 29.

Sawyer is an El Centro native and graduated from Central Union High School, starting his career with the police in 1998.

“Robert brings significant law enforcement background to the position of Interim Police Chief”, expressed City Manager Marcela Piedra. “His experience will allow him to work effectively with the Police Department personnel and residents of the El Centro community.”
