Homeless family of 8 staying in RV seeking donations

YUMA, Ariz. (KYMA, KECY) - Two years after the Covid-19 pandemic, families are still facing housing insecurities.

Including a local homeless family of eight who are seeking donations to jumpstart their lives after losing over half of their belongings due to being evicted over a year ago.

The Anderson family and their pets are left without any more options after facing many issues while homeless.

Now, they’re asking for your help.

The family claims a landlord lied about missed rent checks and evicted them from their home.

Which caused them to lose important documents, priceless memories and basic necessities like a working AC.

Now, over one year later, they remain homeless and the family is urgently seeking donations for a car to solve transportation issues.

Andy Anderson, the father is sharing what the family needs.

“All we need for sure is to raise another $3,000," said Anderson. "Anybody that can help with that and stuff, god bless you.”

The family and their pets are currently living in an RV parked outside of the Walmart on Pacific Avenue.

But an area out in the county is allowing them to park their RV there and even defer their first payment, the issue is getting out there.

“We finally found a place out in the county, but we can’t move out there till we get a car cause this thing has an overheating problem, we just had to replace the fuel pump yesterday for it and just a few other mechanical issues," said Anderson.

All donations will also go towards basic necessities, rent, medications and more.
