Excessive Heat Warning issued for the Desert Southwest
YUMA, Ariz. (KYMA, KECY-TV) - Temperatures are on the rise this week with afternoon highs expected to hit 112 to 116 degrees.
That’s why the national weather service issued an excessive heat watch for 11 a.m. Thursday morning through 8 p.m. Friday so we can properly prepare.
Temperatures like this are very dangerous and could even be deadly.
Causing heat cramps and heat exhaustion which could lead to heat stroke.
“The key thing is trying to stay in a cool area. Those who are impacted the most are the folks who are out doing strenuous activities,” said the National Weather Service Phoenix Tom Frieders.
Stay home if you can but if you do have to step outside like most of us seek air-conditioned buildings and drink lots of water.
