Newly released video and report shed light on Uvalde school shooting
(KYMA, KECY/ CNN) - Newly released video and a new report are shedding light on the response to the Uvalde school shooting.
"An overall lackadaisical approach" with "egregiously poor decision making."
That's how this new, preliminary report from a Texas House investigation describes the response to the Uvalde school shooting at Robb Elementary school.
The report repeatedly notes a lack of clear command during the shooting and lists 376 members of law enforcement on scene -- including many from federal agencies.
Investigators didn't find any responders acted maliciously. In fact, several officers helped children escape while the shooter was still active. But video shows others lacked key information.
The report also faults the school system, the shooter's family and social media platforms.
