Raider Nation Outlawz to host a school supply drive

The local Las Vegas Raiders fan group hopes to help families and kids get off to a great start to the school year

YUMA, Ariz. (KECY, KYMA) - The Raider Nation Outlawz are holding a school supply drive for local students this Saturday, July 16th.

It will be held at Kennedy Park starting at 3 p.m.

The supplies are for kids ages 5 to 10, and food and drinks will be available, as well as raffle prizes.

The Raider Nation Outlawz are a group of friends that became family & came together to join this club not only to enjoy our love of football & our team the Raiders, but also to give back to the local community.

The group says too often Raider fans get a bad rap and they want show a more positive side of what Raider Nation is all about.

In March, the group put together Easter Baskets for local foster children.

Kandice Castellanos from the Raider Nation Outlawz says many organizations came together to make this supply drive possible, especially as prices for groceries and gas rise.

"Everything we do is for the children, so anything we can do to take something off their plate, we’re happy to do," Castellanos said.

Among needed supplies are backpacks, notebooks, markers, rulers, binders and more.
