The future of law in Imperial County as election results continue to come in

EL CENTRO, Calif. (KYMA, KECY) - Primary election day in California is over, and results are starting to settle in. One candidate for Imperial County Sheriff is speaking out after election night.

Fred Miramontes on top of Hilton Smith by many votes. Miramontes says he was confident he would come out the winner in this race.

"It is surprising that I am in the 70% of total ballots but I have had nothing but support from our citizens and communities county wide, I have been around for 45 plus years, they know I have the experience and leadership," he said,
