One dead and another injured after a report of shots fired in El Centro on Saturday
EL CENTRO, Calif. (KYMA, KECY) - It happened on West Heil Avenue near South 4th Street.
EL Centro police says it received the call just before midnight.
The police department says witnesses told them the two victims were involved in a fight at a house party, which then lead out to the street just before gun shots were heard.
When officers arrived, they found a teenage boy with a gunshot wound in the street.
ECPD reports that officers performed life-saving efforts along with other first responders.
Police say the victim was rushed to El Centro Regional Medical Center, but later died as a result of his injuries.
According to officers, another victim in the shooting was already at the hospital after also suffering a gunshot wound.
ECPD sauys multiple people were involved in the fight and several suspects are still on the loose.
The case is still under investigation.
