Gila Ridge High School teacher presented Navy Impact Influencer Award

Educator who worked at high school for eight years presented award

YUMA, Ariz. (KYMA, KECY) - A local high school teacher was presented with the U.S. Navy Impact Influencer Award.

Matthew Zaksheske, a psychology and sociology teacher at Gila Ridge High School, was nominated for positively impacting students.

“I am very happy to have been selected for the award,” Zaksheske said. “But I am more than happy to have been impactful enough to earn it.”

The award is for educators who hold the Navy's core values of Honor, Courage, and Commitment.
