Rural Metro responds to large kitchen fire near Vaughn Avenue

YUMA, Ariz. (KYMA, KECY) - Rural Metro Fire says its crew extinguished a large kitchen fire near Vaughn Avenue on Monday, April 11.

At around 3:30 p.m., Rural Metro got a call from a family who saw a fire from their apartment on West 8th Street and South Avenue B.

A mother was reportedly picking up her child outside and returned home only to see flames in the kitchen.

Firefighters extinguished the fire but the kitchen suffered major damage.

The Red Cross also assisted with the situation, however no injuries were reported within the family of five.

This investigation is still ongoing.
