Autopsy report of local doctor in Santee plane crash released
SAN DIEGO (KYMA, KECY) - The San Diego County Medical Examiner's Office released the autopsy of a Yuma doctor who was the pilot in his fatal Santee, Calif. plane crash in Oct. 2021.
Based on the findings of the medical examiner's office, 64-year-old, Dr. Sugata Das's death was ruled accidental and caused by obvious blunt force injuries.
Although the medical examiner's office was not able to complete a full toxicology test, they were able to determine that there were no drugs, alcohol or suicidal intentions.
He was also not on any medication and had no history of medical conditions.
Dr. Das was leaving Yuma, Ariz. to Montgomery-Gibbs Executive Airport flying a Cessna C340 on Oct. 11, 2021, at 12:15 p.m.
His aircraft hit the ground, two homes and collided with a UPS delivery truck including the driver, Steve Krueger.
